
Registration Has Now Opened!
The Canadian Arab Institute and Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment will be co-hosting a soccer match in effort to welcome Syrian newcomers, with their sponsors, to Toronto. The Toronto and Orlando City Football Clubs will be playing on September 28th at the BMO Field in Toronto as 1500 Syrian newcomers cheer them on.
Registration for the event has now begun. If you are representing a sponsor group, please complete the application form to secure tickets for your newcomer family HERE.

The Interns Take Over!

Through our 2016 summer internship program, CAI welcomes four new team members dedicated to voicing the accomplishments and challenges within the Canadian Arab community. CAI’s commitment to engaging youth in the discussion has allowed for each of our summer interns to develop themselves professionally while learning the topics of conversation relating to the community....[READ ON]

Along the same lines, JAYU also values the role of self-expression in creating positive social change. That is why CAI, along with H.appi, JAYU, and the Arab Community Centre of Toronto (ACCT) have established a safe platform for the Syrian newcomer population to share their experiences through art. JAYU’s vision is to break barriers through establishing a means of communication which transcends societal differences. This year, their “iAM” photography project shares the stories of Syrian refugee youth, exploring the complexities of the concept of “home”. The rotating gallery will travel around Toronto to introduce the newcomers to the city’s art scene and gain exposure. Take a look at their social media links below.

October 16th, 2016: CAI supporters will be able to participate in the 2016 Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon under the CAI banner. The effort will help raise funds for the CAI Academy.
